Lake Garda


Lazise is a nice town in the Province of Verona which is located on the south-est coast of Lake Garda and just 1 Km from Camping La Quercia.

It attracts myriad tourists from all over Europe thanks to its beautiful view of the Alps from the southern shore of Lake Garda.

Its name derives from the Latin “lacus” which means lacustrine village. In the medieval time, it came under Venetian Republic, Lazise was also the first comune (municipality) of Italy, becoming a rich commercial area of the region.

The two main monuments are the Scaliger Castle, the chirch of San Nicolò and the Dogana Veneta, usually used for meetings, congresses and wedding events.

What to do

The city is a popular holiday destination. The core of the city is a series of interconnected squares with many open-air cafés, various shops, ice-cream shops, and bars.

In the neighborhood, you find amusement parks like Gardaland, Movieland and Canevaworld (tickets available in the campsite)

The Zoo Safari Parco Natura Viva is just 3 km and Parco termale Villa dei Cedri (wellness park with natural thermal water) 2 km from the campsite.

In the evening, in Lazise, many bars and pubs organize events with live music or happy hours.

In august, Lazise hosts its traditional “Festa dell’ospite”, a guest festival with musical entertainment, wine and food stalls and lots of fun. The food stalls offer specialties such as risotto with tastasal, fish fry mix, salamella with polenta and local wines tastings. A traditional game which takes place during the event is “the Cuccagna del Cadenon“, a pole in a horizontal position lying on the waters of the port on which the competitors have to slide to take the flag placed at his end, without falling into the water.
